The Biologics Research Center (BRC) at Biomedical Research is seeking a highly skilled Structural Bioinformatician / Computational Chemist specializing in protein structure predictions, protein-protein/ligand interactions, molecular dynamics simulations, and protein/DNA/RNA structure analysis. The ideal candidate will join our Bioinformatics and Biotherapeutics Modelling team and contribute to innovative biologics projects.
About The Role
* Your responsibilities will include:
* Applying structure modeling methods to design novel molecules, optimize lead candidates, and design reagents at various stages of drug discovery.
* Assisting scientists in analyzing and designing biologics sequences and structures, including RNA therapeutics, from early discovery to optimization.
* Developing and improving computational structural modeling methods to analyze data and design functional drug properties.
* Integrating diverse data types to build predictive models, formulate hypotheses, and generate actionable insights.
* Contributing to the design and improvement of bioinformatics tools for molecular modeling and structure analysis.
* Collaborating closely with experimental scientists in a multidisciplinary environment.
What You Will Bring To The Role
Qualifications and skills include:
* Recent Ph.D. (graduated within the last 3-6 months), MS with 4+ years relevant industry experience, or equivalent in theoretical/computational chemistry, bioinformatics, structural biology, or related fields.
* Experience in structure-based drug design, QM/MM calculations, MD simulations, molecular modeling, and AI.
* Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is advantageous but not essential; academic or research experience in biologics, RNA, or antibody therapeutics is valuable.
* Proficiency in structural biology tools and software (e.g., MOE, Schrodinger, Rosetta).
* Understanding of RNA structural biology and RNA-ligand interactions is preferred.
* Experience with AI/ML models in workflows, monitoring, retraining, and updating models is a plus.
* Strong analytical skills for biological data interpretation.
* Programming skills in Python, R, or similar, with familiarity with bioinformatics databases and version control systems like Git.
* Innovative mindset with a passion for advancing biologics research.
* Problem-solving ability, teamwork, and effective communication skills.
