Our financial client is seeking a Lead Auditor to join their Basel based team in a permanent role.
This role will require 100% onsite working in Basel, with international travel expected up to 30 days per year.
Your Role: As a Lead Auditor you will operate across a diverse range of risk topics, including financial crime and business conduct, while remaining flexible to new and emerging areas. You will independently plan and deliver audits end-to-end, from scoping to reporting, while engaging with stakeholders at all levels. In addition, you will take ownership of selected international locations, driving risk identification, assessment and timely responses to an evolving business and regulatory landscape, and acting as sparring partner to local senior management.
Your Responsibilities: Assume the role of Lead Auditor, including goal- and deadline-oriented planning, independent execution and timely communication of results from end-to-end audits
Draft clear and impactful reports
Act as a sparring partner for management
Monitor the implementation of measures
Prepare statements for the Head of Group Internal Audit, the Board of Directors, or other decision-makers
Act as the person responsible for the locations Panama and Bahamas (annual risk assessment, activity planning, key contact)
Participate in special investigations and projects
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert
Your Profile: Banking apprenticeship, certified bank professional, or higher business education (university or university of applied sciences), CIA, CFA, or equivalent
A certified public accountant qualification is advantageous
At least 5 years of experience as a Lead Auditor in banking audit (internal or external audit)
Excellent Microsoft Office skills; experience with Avaloq is an advantage
Ability to weigh problems, set priorities and strong analytical skills
Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Hands-on mentality, strong work ethic, integrity and a high level of accountability
Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as ability to work independently
Willingness to travel abroad (approx. 30 days per year)
Fluency in English with the ability to write clear, impactful texts in English; knowledge of German, French, or Spanish is an advantage
