Job Description
This is an initial contract running for 12 months starting years with strong likelihood to extend on a long-term basis (up to max five years) based on the project road maps, with start date by December 2025.
You will join an international team responsible for encouraging innovation and adoption of next technology in Central Bank and take ownership of its Shared Source initiative, focusing on hands-on technical implementation and platform development.
The Lead Engineer will be responsible for architecting the technical platform, implementing robust CI/CD pipelines, and establishing secure version control systems. The role also includes defining governance frameworks and integrating technical processes to ensure compliance with intellectual property and security requirements. This is a unique opportunity to design and implement a program from the ground up, blending technical execution with operational excellence.
Responsibilities Include
Architect the Platform:
* Design and implement a secure, scalable, and efficient shared source environment.
* Set up and manage version control systems (e.g., GitLab or GitHub Enterprise).
* Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and high-quality code delivery.
* Integrate software security best practices, including access control, vulnerability scanning, and dependency management.
Define Governance & Process
* Develop an operational playbook for the shared source program, including clear guidelines on contributions, code reviews, versioning, and release management.
* Implement technical controls to protect intellectual property and align with contribution models (e.g., CLAs).
Cultivate The Community
* Onboard contributors and provide technical support to ensure active participation.
* Foster a collaborative and innovative environment by encouraging high-quality contributions.
Bridge The Gap
* Collaborate with legal teams to translate legal requirements (e.g., licensing and IP) into practical technical processes.
* Ensure the shared source program is compliant while maintaining a developer-friendly environment.

As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for a proactive DevOps Lead Engineer with strong expertise in managing and implementing open-source solutions to take on a role with focus on hands-on technical implementation and platform development.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will possess as many of the following skills as possible:
* Proven experience working within open-source or shared-source projects and environments, managing the implementation of open-source frameworks and systems.
* Hands-on expertise with code-hosting platforms and developer ecosystems like GitLab or GitHub Enterprise.
* Strong background in DevOps and CI/CD automation to ensure efficient and high-quality code maintenance.
* Solid understanding of software security best practices, including access control, vulnerability scanning, and dependency management.
* Knowledge of software licensing, contribution models (e.g., CLAs), and intellectual property considerations in a collaborative coding context.
* Fluency in English

Please note interviews would be conducted via video call (two stages), however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. Our client offers:
