We are seeking a proactive andmercially driven Business Developer Raw Materials to expand our client's footprint across the European will be responsible for identifying trading opportunities, developing client relationships, and executing physical ethanol deals - with a focus on both industrial and fuel-grade applications.
Fluency in English and German is essential to operate effectively across key European markets.
Job Description
1. Sales & Business Development Define and execute go-to-market strategies by geography, customer segment, and sales channel. Manage and grow sales with our existing European customer base in the traditional ethanol (potable and industrial) segments. Identify and pursue new business opportunities. Build and maintain daily contact with key accounts and prospects; conduct regular client visits (5 days/month). Develop marketing material and sales presentations tailored to customer needs. Market Intelligence & Reporting Lead structured reporting to management on customer interactions, market developments, andpetitor activity. Present quarterly and annual sales plans based on a systematic mapping of European demand. Improve internal reporting tools and processes in coordination with marketing, operations, IT, and finance. Contract Execution & Operations Coordination Draft, review, and issuemercial contracts. Supervise operators to ensure timely and accurate execution of deals. Monitor stock levels, forecast supply needs, and instruct the chartering desk to secure shipping as needed. Oversee blending and denaturing operations, ensuringpliance and quality. Quality & Risk Management Understand and align customer quality requirements with supplier specifications. Identify blending and arbitrage opportunities to optimize product value. Oversee vessel vetting processes, supported by operators and inspectionpanies. Regulatory Oversight Stay abreast of relevant EU regulations: excise duties, customs duties (incl. duty-free quotas), denaturants, REACHpliance, and sector-specific regulations (food, cosmetics, pharma, etc.). Coordinate internal research andpliance efforts with traders, operators, analysts, and external consultants
The Successful Applicant
2. Fluent in English and German (both oral and written); French is a plus.
3. Provenmercial acumen and a track record in business development or sales.
4. Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical, interpersonal, andmunication skills.
5. Drive to succeed in a fast-paced international trading environment.
6. Willingness to learn the specifics of ethanol trading and navigateplex regulatory frameworks.
