Junior Software Engineer - Test Benches
The BE-CEM-MTA section provides turn-key solutions for test, measurement, and analysis projects. Our tools mainly revolve around offerings from NI (LabVIEW, PXI, cRIO). We implement applications and systems built using a selected set of National Instruments and Alliance Members' products. We provide CERN-wide LabVIEW support and support a framework for Rapid Application Development (RADE) based on LabVIEW.
We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for upgrading and maintaining validation test benches and hardware, designing and extending test hardware platforms and environments, and integrating results into a database.
Responsibilities:
* Upgrade and maintain validation test benches and hardware.
* Design and extend test hardware platforms and environments.
* Design individual test steps for various boards.
* Design test-bench hardware.
* Integrate results into a database.
* Document and support the platform and tests.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Good knowledge of LabVIEW, LabVIEW RT, and FPGA.
* Good knowledge of Python; knowledge of pytest is a bonus.
* Comfortable with Linux and its command-line interface.
* Ability to develop well-engineered solutions.
* Ability to communicate and understand client requirements.
* Documenting progress, development, implementation, and challenges.
* Willing to seek help and collaborate with the team.
* Ability to work autonomously when needed.
* Proficiency in spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learning the basics of the other language.
