Job Description:
MISSION
Carry out maintenance and control of all mechanical production equipment
Ensure the efficiency of the production equipment
Prepare maintenance plans and spare parts
Manage the deck mechanic team in compliance with safety and quality procedures
Ensure adequate training to personnel
TASKS
Manage production equipment ensuring continuous operation through maintenance and repairs
Supervise and coordinate the Offshore Mechanic Foremen and Mechanics to ensure safety and quality compliance
Assign maintenance tasks to team members
Define maintenance priorities and schedules
Maintain spare parts inventory to ensure work continuity and vessel self-sufficiency
Order spare parts timely for scheduled maintenance
Use corporate software for planning, execution, and control of maintenance activities
Prepare equipment in advance for project operations in liaison with the Chief Engineer and Offshore Construction Manager
Preserve vessel equipment during long stand-by periods
Ensure all equipment is certified, in good condition, and properly stored
Provide maintenance for project equipment as needed
Handle equipment demobilization and preservation at project end
Train Junior Vessel Equipment Engineers
Report near-misses and incidents
Operate the Permit-to-Work system
Conduct Toolbox Talks and prepare Job Safety Analyses as required
Participate in emergency team duties as per manual
Report to the Chief Engineer
Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience as 2nd Engineer / Electrical Engineer
Experience maintaining Barge equipment including machinery, towing gear, mooring equipment, ballast systems, and minor repairs
Manage spare parts and consumables
Assist management and report accordingly
Experience with ballasting operations and barge equipment management
Manage Mooring Crews and assist with tug operations
Ability to act as owner’s representative, ensuring security and asset protection
Knowledge of maritime rules and regulations
Independent worker with minimal supervision
Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree from a Technical Institute
Technical Knowledge: Advanced Mechanical and/or Electrical knowledge
