Overview
Senior EHS Specialist role at Bavarian Nordic, based at our Bern, Switzerland manufacturing site. This is a newly established position as part of our EHS strategy.
Responsibilities
* Operational Leadership: Lead safety programs, deliver training, and implement injury reduction and risk mitigation strategies
* Cultural Change: Drive safety culture by integrating Human and Operational Performance Principles (HOP) into daily operations
* Project Support: Conduct gap assessments, identify improvements, and implement EHS solutions. Act as the global lead on key EHS processes such as Business Continuity and Risk Management
* Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure regulatory compliance, lead inspections, and manage incident investigations and risk assessments
* Reporting & Metrics: Track and analyze operational EHS metrics to support continuous improvement
Qualifications
* A bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or an EHS-related field with 8+ years of professional experience, or a master’s degree with 5+ years of experience
* Must be qualified to act as the Health and Safety representative under Swiss law for the Bern Production Facility
* Extensive hands-on experience with EHS programs, including knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001
* Pharmaceutical industry experience is highly advantageous
* Experience with HOP and Kepner-Tregoe RCA is a plus
* Proficiency in English and Swiss German
