The Wealth Regulatory Reporting Operations Manager is a managerial role responsible for ensuring complete, accurate, and timely regulatory reporting submissions, including exception resolution and process improvements in coordination with the Wealth Regulatory Reporting Operations team. The overall objective is to ensure accurate, timely, and complete fulfillment of regulatory reporting obligations imposed on Citi by different regulators.
This position plays a key role within the Global Wealth Private Bank Operations & Technology organization and is a key partner to the Wealth Business Senior Management Team, Investments Business Management, Discretionary Business Management, Business Risk & Control, Legal and Compliance.
The overall objectives of this role are to strengthen operational regulatory reporting processes, governance, and detection of issues; serve as the link between product and regulatory reporting; and increase awareness and knowledge of regulatory reporting.
Responsibilities
* Preparation and submission of regulatory reports covering different jurisdictions and products
* Analyzing regulatory reporting process front to back
* Resolving issues related to regulatory reporting
* Communicating operational changes arising from remediation or process or control enhancements to Operations & Technology
* Developing business requirements for system-related enhancements and end‑to‑end management of implementation of new or amended regulations
* Reconciling positions and ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting
* Executing the roadmap to improve regulatory reporting operations efficiency, controls, and resilience
* Streamlining process inconsistencies, mitigating risks, and documenting processes; sharing knowledge among the team to manage regulatory reporting operations functions
* Anticipating details of future regulations by communicating directly with key stakeholders and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news
* Driving projects and process improvements
* Supporting all control functions including MCA, audits, procedure updates and implementation
* Calculating and monitoring key KPIs and metrics
* Timely escalation of issues and monitoring until resolution
* Close cooperation with Business and Tech partners on gap identification and process improvements
* Preparation and participation in governance forums
* Supporting internal and external audit reviews in relation to regulatory reporting operations & controls processes
* Coordinating task allocation and completion in the regulatory reporting operations team
* Continuing professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices
* Managing a team
Qualifications
* Minimum 9 years of experience in operations, preferably in regulatory reporting space
* Minimum 4 years of experience in leading a team
* Solid experience in transactional regulatory reporting
* Proven experience working with demanding business stakeholders within a cross‑functional matrix environment
* Deep understanding of regulations and operational processes
* Good understanding of investments and capital market products as well as trade execution and settlement processes
* Analytical thinking skills
* Effective workload management
* Effective, audience‑adjusted communication skills
* Critical thinking and logical conclusion drawing
* Adequate proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint, with experience presenting to stakeholders and senior leadership
* Experience working both independently and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment
* Master's degree, preferably in finance and banking
