PpbbMain duties and responsibilities /b /b /p /ppbContext – General aim of the position: /b /p pWithin EPFL Sustainability, part of the Vice-Presidency for Research and Strategic Initiatives, your role will be to work with laboratories, centers and platforms to assess and reduce their environmental footprint without compromising the quality of researches. /p pYou will liaise with various EPFL Vice-Presidencies and Faculties, and will be required to: /p pbGreen Labs Strategy /b /p liOn behalf of the head department, support, monitor and ensure the planning and implementation of the Green Labs part for the Climate and Sustainability Strategy /li liSupport laboratories, centers and platforms in reducing their environmental impact /li liParticipate in defining targets by laboratory type /li liDefine and propose a funding plan to support laboratories and platforms in rolling out reduction measures: the question of a dedicated fund arises /li liParticipate in national and international working groups /li ppbbMission /b /b /p /p pbSupport for laboratoires /b /p liCarrying out carbon assessments of research activities for laboratories, centers and platforms /li liAnalysing energy and resource consumption /li liRaise awareness among research teams /li liImplementing certifications such as LEAF, Sparhub or My Green Lab /li liAdvising on best practices, particularly regarding energy, procurement, travel, waste (including plastic), etc. /li liDevelop roadmaps and actions planes /li pbCommunication engagement /b /p liSupport communication relating to the roll-out of EPFL’s research activity quantification tool, the CO2Calculator /li liParticipate in and/or organize, on behalf of the head department, Green Labs team coordination meetings /li liOrganise workshops and events /li liCreate educational materials /li liMaintain and develop the website /li liPromote the laboratories’ initiatives /li liDevelop a culture of sustainable research /li ppbbProfile /b /b /p /p pbRequired experience /b /p liMaster’s or PhD level university education, or a degree from a University of Applied Sciences (HES) in engineering, environmental sciences, data analysis, digital sciences or equivalent /li li5 years’ minimum experience in methods for monitoring and accounting for GHG emissions /li li5 years’ minimum experience in managing cross-functional projects /li pbRequired skills /b /p liProficiency in the principles of carbon emissions accounting (e.g. GHG Protocol) /li liKnowledge of methods, tools and standards for quantifying environmental footprints, such as life cycle assessment /li liStrong interest in sustainability and reducing the environmental footprint /li liExperience with ACV software such as SimaPro is an advantage /li liProven knowledge of the academic world /li liLanguage skills: French and English essential /li liAnalytical and summarising skills, strong writing ability /li liAbility to work across departments /li liDemonstrate independence, proactivity and the ability to generate ideas /li liEthics and scientific integrity /li ppbbWe offer /b /b /p /p liThe opportunity to contribute to impactful projects aimed at reducing environmental impacts in academic research /li liA flexible working environment within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team /li ppbbInformations /b /b /p /p pContract Start Date : As soon as possible /p pActivity Rate Min : 80% /p pActivity Rate Max : 100% /p pContract Type: CDD /p pDuration: 1 year /p
