Bio‑Rad is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer – Continuous Improvement (100%) for its site in Cressier/FR.
We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive operational excellence and support the competitiveness and profitability of our diagnostics manufacturing site in Switzerland. The primary mission of this role is to drive the change and structure the continuous improvement onto the manufacturing sphere, ensuring achievement of 2026 standard cost objectives, high quality performance, and operational efficiency.
The role acts as a change agent, embedding Lean and CI culture at all levels of the organization and enabling teams to improve performance through data‑driven problem solving and standardization.
How You’ll Make an impact
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
Execute CI roadmap and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
Deploy and sustain Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence methodologies (Kaizen, VSM, 5S, SMED, standard work, problem‑solving)
Identify improvement opportunities through performance data, Gemba observations, and team feedback
Facilitate Kaizen workshops and improvement events involving cross‑functional teams
Act as a CI coach and change leader for production teams, supervisors, and support functions
Cost & Performance Improvement
Support the site in achieving standard cost and productivity targets, including 2026 objectives
Drive improvements in efficiency, throughput, yield, and labor effectiveness
Monitor and analyze key operational KPIs (OEE, productivity, cost, quality indicators)
Ensure improvement initiatives deliver measurable and sustainable results
Quality & Compliance Support
Ensure continuous improvement activities are aligned with quality, GMP, and regulatory requirements
Promote right‑first‑time mindset and standardization to support high‑quality output
Support deviation analysis and corrective action effectiveness through structured problem‑solving
Culture, Standards & Capability Building
Promote a strong continuous improvement mindset across the organization
Develop, deploy, and maintain standards, visual management, and performance routines
Train and coach teams on CI tools, structured problem solving, and operational excellence practices
Support leadership in embedding CI behaviors and performance management systems
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Industrialization teams
Act as a key interface between shop floor teams and site leadership for improvement initiatives
Support change management and communication related to CI projects
What you bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
3–7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Diagnostics, Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, or regulated industries
Demonstrated success in continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
Experience with root cause analysis, process capability, and data analysis
Understanding of quality systems and GMP/regulatory requirements
Ability to work hands‑on on the shop floor
Fluent in French and English (spoken and written) – mandatory
Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to influence and drive change in a cross‑functional environment
Structured, autonomous, and results‑oriented
