.As a key function supporting ABB E-mobility’s operations across 15+ countries and multiple sales jurisdictions, the Indirect Tax Lead/Manager ensures robust, compliant, and efficient management of indirect taxes (VAT, SUT, GST, and others).
The role combines strategic advisory and operational execution, supporting contract reviews and designing tax-efficient business models. It also plays a key role in e-invoicing and digital tax initiatives, working closely with Finance, Technology, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure seamless integration into systems such as SAP S/4HANA.
In this role your main accountabilities will be:
Provide risk-based indirect tax advisory across O2C, P2P, supply chain, and intercompany transactions
Review contracts and transactions to assess tax implications and recommend optimal structures
Oversee indirect tax compliance (VAT, SUT, GST) across multiple jurisdictions
Define and maintain tax policies, procedures, and internal controls
Monitor regulatory changes (incl. e-invoicing) and lead implementation of required updates
Design and implement tax-efficient business models, logistics flows, and transaction structures
Lead e-invoicing and CTC initiatives, defining tax requirements and validating system outputs
Identify and manage tax risks; support audits and interactions with tax authorities
Drive continuous improvement and standardization of indirect tax processes
Act as tax functional lead for ERP (SAP S/4HANA) and tax engine solutions
To make the above work, we are looking for a senior professional who has a proven experience with e-invoicing and digital tax reporting requirements. Other essential requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required; Tax specialization or advanced degree is a plus
5+ years of indirect tax experience in a multinational environment
Experience in industrial or complex supply chain settings preferred
Strong knowledge of VAT, GST, SUT, and global indirect tax frameworks
Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4HANA) and tax engines
Strong analytical skills with ability to translate tax topics into business guidance
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work cross-functionally in an international, matrix environment
Proactive mindset with focus on process improvement and risk management
