PpWe are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong backend expertise and solid fullstack experience to join AlpineAI. In this role, you will build customer integrations and further develop our secure AI platform so that it scales reliably for future customer needs in regulated environments. /p pYou will work as part of a small focused engineering team and take ownership across the full software development lifecycle: from technical design and architecture decisions to implementation, testing, reviews, deployment, and ongoing improvement. The role is fullstack, with a stronger emphasis on backend engineering. /p h3Customer Integrations /h3 ul liDesign, implement, and maintain customer‑specific integrations with AlpineAI’s platform and product ecosystem. /li liTranslate customer requirements into robust technical solutions, APIs, workflows, and backend services. /li liWork closely with product, AI, infrastructure, and customer‑facing teams to move integrations from prototype to production. /li liEnsure integrations are secure, maintainable, well‑documented, and aligned with customer‑specific compliance requirements. /li liBuild and improve backend services, APIs, data flows, and application logic so the platform scales for future use cases, customers, and operational requirements. /li liContribute to AlpineAI’s microservices architecture, keeping services intentionally small and focused, and design service boundaries, data contracts, and integration patterns that support long‑term maintainability. /li liContribute to frontend features where needed, particularly in React and Vite‑based applications. /li liSupport deployment, monitoring, and operation of SaaS services in production, and improve system reliability, observability, testability, and developer experience across the stack. /li /ul h3Engineering Quality, Ownership AI Collaboration /h3 ul liTake ownership of clean, maintainable, and well‑tested solutions across the entire stack, applying pragmatic engineering judgement in a startup environment to balance speed, quality, security, and scalability. /li liParticipate in technical decision‑making, architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering sparring, and contribute to internal documentation, implementation standards, and reusable engineering patterns. /li liCollaborate with AI and product engineers to integrate LLM‑based capabilities into customer‑facing applications, designing backend workflows around AI features such as inference APIs, tool integrations, post‑processing, and guardrail‑related logic. /li liHelp ensure AI‑powered features are reliable, secure, and usable in regulated customer environments. /li /ul h3Software Engineering Experience /h3 ul liSeveral years of professional experience as a Software Engineer at senior level. /li liStrong backend engineering expertise combined with solid fullstack experience. /li liExperience designing, building, operating, and improving SaaS products in production. /li liAbility to take ownership of complex technical problems and deliver pragmatic, production‑ready solutions. /li liStrong general backend engineering skills that transfer across languages. Most roles involve some Python, so working proficiency there is helpful, but we are not tied to a fixed stack: our microservices today span languages such as Python, Java, and Rust, and we are open to others where they fit the problem and the candidate’s strengths. /li liStrong understanding of API design, service architecture, data flows, testing, and maintainable backend systems. /li liFamiliarity with microservices architectures and the trade‑offs involved in distributed systems. /li liExperience with Docker, CI/CD, observability, and cloud or data‑centre‑based deployment environments is a strong plus. /li /ul h3Frontend Product Engineering /h3 ul liFrontend experience with React and Vite. /li liAbility to work across the stack when needed, from backend services to user‑facing application features. /li liProduct‑oriented mindset and the ability to turn user and customer needs into practical engineering solutions. /li /ul h3AI / LLM Experience /h3 ul liExperience with AI‑ or LLM‑based applications is an advantage. /li liInterest in building secure, reliable AI products for regulated environments. /li liUnderstanding of AI product patterns such as inference APIs, retrieval workflows, tool usage, output validation, or guardrails is beneficial. /li /ul h3Communication Working Style /h3 ul liNative or proficiency in German and excellent English skills; Swiss German is an advantage. /li liClear communication, strong collaboration skills, and willingness to engage in technical sparring and code reviews. /li liComfortable working in a small, fast‑moving startup team with high ownership and a hands‑on mindset. /li /ul h3What We Are Offering /h3 ul liOpportunity to participate in AlpineAI’s company shares program after the initiation period. /li liDynamic, innovation‑driven culture with high autonomy and real product impact. /li liWork on secure AI applications for critical Swiss sectors such as healthcare, public authorities, and higher education. /li liClose collaboration with experts in software engineering, infrastructure, speech, NLP, and applied AI. /li liExposure to cutting‑edge AI technologies while solving real customer problems. /li liHybrid role based in Zurich or Davos, with an 80–100% workload. /li /ul h3Don’t Apply If /h3 ul liYou are not willing to work in a hybrid setup connected to Zurich or Davos. /li liYou do not have work permission for Switzerland. /li liYou are looking for a narrow frontend‑only or backend‑only role and do not want to work across the stack when needed. /li liYou are uncomfortable with startup environments, ambiguity, fast iteration, and high ownership. /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
