As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we are seeking an experienced Cost Manager to support large-scale capital investment projects across our client portfolio.
Position Overview:
As a Cost Manager at Inova, you will play a key role in managing and controlling project costs throughout the full project lifecycle. You will oversee cost reporting, forecasting, and risk management processes on large pharmaceutical infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with internal procedures, budgets, and stakeholder expectations. You will work in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, project stakeholders, and partners to support accurate financial tracking and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the development of project cost estimates and ensure smooth transition from estimate to control budget
Interface with Estimating, Planning, Procurement, Engineering, and Finance teams to align on budget ownership and project objectives
Maintain and deliver timely, accurate cost reporting, including budget, commitments, value of work done (VOWD), accruals, forecast to complete, and estimate at completion (EAC)
Ensure contractors and engineering partners apply compliant cost control tools and methodologies
Implement cost management processes at the project level, including change control and contingency tracking
Collaborate with planning and engineering teams to detect deviations from project baselines early
Support project change, risk, and opportunity management by evaluating cost impacts
Provide leadership with reliable reporting on EAC, cost trends, and budget variances
Assist with project close-out activities including asset activation, benchmarking, and commercial finalization
Support and oversee junior cost engineers, fostering best practices and process consistency
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
Experience:
10+ years of cost management experience on large capital projects (>250M CHF), preferably in pharma or biotech sectors
Background in EPCm environments and experience as a client representative is a strong advantage
Skills & Tools:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with working knowledge of SAP, SAP Ariba, and Oracle Primavera Unifier considered a plus
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex cost data and present it clearly to stakeholders
Ability to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-paced project environment
Languages: Fluent in English; German (B2 or above) is a significant advantage
Mobility: Willingness to work in a global, multicultural environment and travel to project sites as required
