The institute is a newly established research center in Basel, Switzerland, dedicated to advancing human biology through the use of human model systems for translational research. Our dynamic and interdisciplinary environment fosters collaboration among biologists, engineers, and data scientists, bridging the gap between academic and pharmaceutical research. Your responsibilities in this role will include:* Hematopoietic signaling pathways and blood disorders biology* CRISPR/Cas9-based genome engineering, single-cell or spatial transcriptomics, or high-content imaging.* High-dimensional flow cytometry and spectral approaches* Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Roche and IHB to tackle challenges in cellular Bioengineer approaches from hardwares to cell editing### **Who You Are:*** MSc in Biology, Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Chemistry, Physics or related field (completed before program start).* Strong academic record (e.g., GPA >80%, first/upper second class degree, top 10%).* At least 1 year of practical lab experience, including independent isolation and cultivation of human immune cells and hematopoietic stem cells.* Excellent English skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a collaborative mindset within international teams.* Experience with advanced in vitro systems (e.g., 3D cultures, organoids) and familiarity with hematopoietic signaling pathways are an advantage.* Hands-on experience with modern technologies (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9, single-cell or spatial transcriptomics, high-content imaging) is preferred.* Ideally, you also bring experience with confocal or 2-photon microscopy and/or high-dimensional flow cytometry.Join our newly established Institute of Human Biology (IHB) as a PhD Student Fellow in newly formed Immuno-Stem cell dynamics.
