Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Geo Product Manager to join our dynamic Geo team in Zurich. In this role, you'll ensure that Swiss Re effectively leverages geospatial data to enhance underwriting decisions.
About The Role
* Owning and advancing the development of geospatial products related to natural catastrophe (NatCat) events and exposure data.
* Engaging proactively with stakeholders to understand business needs and translating these into technical requirements.
* Defining, prioritizing, and managing the product roadmap.
* Collaborating closely with natural catastrophe modeling experts to develop products that drive confident NatCat underwriting decisions.
This role is embedded in the Cat & Geo Modelling team, which is spread across Zurich, Bangalore, and Singapore. Our team develops and advances Swiss Re's proprietary catastrophe modeling framework and ensures that geospatial information is accurately considered in those models.
We work closely with Swiss Re's underwriting teams and clients to uphold and advance our proprietary NatCat models. Ultimately, we create value for Swiss Re by driving confident NatCat decisions.
About You

As a great communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you enjoy engaging with diverse stakeholders and understanding their needs.
You have a Master's degree or equivalent in a technical discipline, ideally Geoinformatics, Geomatics, Remote Sensing. Your background includes 2 years of experience as a product manager, with a focus on mapping or geospatial data products. You have a proven track record in guiding products from concept to successful release.
You are able to manage multiple products in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Hands-on experience with geospatial tools (QGIS, ArcGIS Online) and programming (spatial SQL, Python incl. GDAL, geopandas, rasterio) is essential. Additionally, you can rapidly develop prototypes and experiment iteratively.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is also beneficial. Experience in building or applying NatCat models would be an asset.
