Overview
UNICEF ECARO is seeking a part-time, home-based consultant to coordinate the International Network of Experts on the Implementation of Digital Mental Health Solutions for Children, Adolescents and Youth. The consultant will support the Secretariat of the eMH Expert Network, foster partnerships, advocate for effective digital mental health solutions, and manage knowledge generated from expert discussions. The position is 34 working days over six months (April to September), with possible travel to countries or international meetings as needed.
Responsibilities
* Support the Secretariat function for the UNICEF eMH Expert Network: adapt and finalize TORs for sharing/approval; finalize key reports; manage the roster of experts; organize and support deep-dive webinar-style expert discussions; draft invitations and agendas; communicate with partners (including eMHIC, Brain Health Institute, WHO) and experts.
* Support the coordination function: coordinate among Network experts, segment expertise, coordinate with UNICEF and partner initiatives related to child and youth mental health and development of digital solutions.
* Support Knowledge Management: draft and review expert deep-dive summary reports; summarize discussions and outcomes from deep dives and webinars.
* Support analysis and drafting of summary documentation around lessons learned from implementing digital MH solutions (including uSupport); prepare case studies and manuscripts for potential publication; participate in discussions on implementation challenges.
* Support UNICEF uSupport team with additional tasks as required; document and deliver related outputs.
Deliverables & Timeframe
* Deliverables related to Secretariat support and network organization, with associated deadlines (examples from the original text include revised TORs, finalized reports, and two expert deep dives). Delivery timelines are indicated in weeks/months alongside input days (e.g., 4 days by September 2026).
* Coordination among Network experts and identification of collaboration opportunities with other digital MH networks; development of a segmentation proposal for Network roles; drafted communications with Network members.
* Knowledge management outputs: two expert deep dive summary reports; reviews and submission-ready documents.
* Documentation of lessons learned from digital MH solutions (including uSupport) with supporting PPTs and potential publications.
* Support for additional UNICEF uSupport tasks as required.
Qualifications
* Education: Master’s degree in the social sciences, international development, health or related fields. PhD is an asset for academic writing tasks.
* Experience: At least 7 years of international development experience, including work with governments, civil society and youth organizations.
* Knowledge: Familiarity with adolescent health, e-MH concepts, and experience coordinating expert networks or implementation support networks is highly desirable.
* Skills: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in English; fluency in other UN languages is an asset.
Work Context
Home-based with possible travel. Employment is under a Contractors Agreement level as a consultant; English required. May require coordination with partners and participation in webinars and meetings across regions.
