Project Engineer

The Project Engineer is responsible for developing technical concepts, advising internal stakeholders on decision-making, and executing detailed engineering plans. This role manages projects from initial concept through implementation, including securing necessary funding and ensuring successful delivery.
The Project Engineer holds full accountability for costs, timelines, and functionality, ensuring projects meet both technical and business objectives.

Contract duration: 1 year
Key Responsibilities
Technical Project Management (≈60%)
Lead the planning and execution of small to mid-sized investment projects with direct impact on production and business performance
Perform process engineering calculations and drive plant optimization initiatives
Conduct feasibility studies for new installations and modifications of existing plants, including:
Cost estimation
Scheduling
Functional design
Support production adjustments and new product launches from a technical perspective
Concept Development (≈20%)
Develop and evaluate technical solutions
Analyze advantages and disadvantages to support informed decision-making
Team Coordination & Resource Management (≈10%)
Identify, procure, and coordinate internal and external resources
Ensure projects are executed professionally and within agreed timelines
Process Optimization & Knowledge Transfer (≈10%)
Improve process flows and implement sustainable solutions
Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice transfer within the organization
Requirements
Technical Diploma or Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering / Technology, Chemical or Biochemical Engineering or related field
Strong ability to apply technical expertise in day-to-day operations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly independent, structured, and organized working style
Fluent in English and German (written and spoken)
Innovative and solution-oriented mindset
Proven leadership skills in a matrix organization
Strong analytical thinking and contextual understanding
