Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled engineer to drive new product developments that improve patient lives. The role focuses on developing the next generation of digitally integrated Nobel Biocare dental prosthetic hardware solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop products autonomously, adhering to company development processes. Plan, perform, and document design verification and validation activities.
* E nsure all required specifications and related documentation are in place on time and meet quality standards to achieve early milestones.
* Manage external partners and suppliers for assigned development activities.
* Identify patentable designs and file patents in cooperation with the company's IP department.
* Drive process and product improvements.
* Serve as a central point of knowledge for technical expertise in the company's products.
* Report to line and project managers on achievements and escalate challenges in a timely manner.
Requirements:
Critical Knowledge and Qualifications:
* Strong technical background (BSc, MSc or equivalent) in relevant fields (e.g. biomedical or mechanical engineering).
* Further education in Medical Technology or Business Administration is beneficial.
* Fluency in English (spoken and written), German (spoken and written) is an asset.
Critical Skills/Technical Know-How:
* Strong analytical skills and result orientation, with interest in innovation and new technology.
* Analyzes issues and breaks them down, making documented, systematic, and rational judgments based on relevant information.
* Demonstrates a broad-based view of issues and a perception of their longer-term impact or wider implications, viewing issues in terms of costs, profits, markets, and added value.
* Strong interpersonal skills with high integrity, commitment, ethics, and proactivity to cultivate a network of productive relationships in an international environment.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks independently to meet objectives.
* Good knowledge of design control processes according to ISO 13485 or ISO 9001.
* Good knowledge of relevant tools (3D CAD, CAM, SAP, MS Office).
* Good knowledge of various manufacturing methods, especially CNC, additive manufacturing, including limitations and costs.
* An understanding of dental clinical and laboratory workflows, to translate customer needs into technical requirements, is beneficial.
* An understanding of 3D data capture, imaging, and data processing is beneficial.
Desirable Experience:
* Three plus years of successful working experience in product development and/or technical project lead in medical device or pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the dental industry.
* Experience leading technical projects and teams in matrix organizations.
