Overview

Industry Advisor: Pharmaceuticals Industry. Our Healthcare & Life Sciences mission is to empower our clients and partners with innovations that bridge data, AI, and trust to enhance the patient experience and support better outcomes across the HLS ecosystem.

We are looking for an Industry Advisor who has working knowledge in the Pharma industry and can serve as a thought leader in industry-focused sales, contribute to digital transformation account planning, and engage executive-level stakeholders to drive strategic change.


Responsibilities

* Serve as a thought leader on industry-focused sales within Microsoft and as the Industry subject matter expert in digital transformation account planning.
* Act as an industry advisor to executive-level business decision makers, identify business needs, and land value propositions.
* Provide industry perspective during early opportunity engagements; engage with senior decision makers to nurture new business opportunities.
* Initiate conversations with strategic customers to showcase the need for strategic change.
* Determine root causes of customer problems, remove blockers, and establish recovery action plans.
* Generate demand through industry presentations and events.
* Seek additional training and share knowledge with team members to deepen understanding of customers’ businesses.
* Translate industry knowledge for the account management team and collaborate with partners to identify future requirements and connect partner ecosystems to scale results.
* Extend relationships with peers and senior team members across solution areas; proactively build knowledge of Microsoft and industry solutions.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute customer opportunities and design envisioned solutions (e.g., pilots, proofs of concept, rapid prototyping, MVPs).


Industry Expertise

* Complete required training and pursue additional learning opportunities to obtain relevant industry expertise and certifications.
* Maintain knowledge of Microsoft and other industry-relevant solutions; stay informed on trends, policy implications, and competitors to inform pursuit decisions.
* Provide feedback to the ecosystem and guide industry solutions teams; advise and present at industry communities.
* Lead knowledge sharing and establish a learning baseline for colleagues; seek ongoing training to build competencies.


Planning and Engagement

* Lead multi-horizon planning for industry-oriented solution selling; create segment-focused roadmaps based on business and technology priorities.
* Identify resources to support digital transformation plans and drive envisions for mid- to long-term customer plans.
* Build influential relationships with external senior decision makers and partners; engage key stakeholders, define engagement strategies, and ensure effective procurement relationships.
* Support definition of holistic account strategies and align roadmaps to drive growth and reduce costs.
* Provide industry POV to inform decisions; orchestrate cross-functional plays to support relationships and drive adoption of Microsoft technologies.
* Collaborate with ISVs and partners to inform industry knowledge and connect with local markets and must-win accounts.


Sales Execution

* Identify customer needs and industry readiness; leverage internal resources to land value propositions and solution plays.
* Open opportunities based on industry objectives, best practices, and stakeholder relationships; identify high-impact, repeatable use cases.
* Propose solutions aligned with customer needs and industry narratives; identify top value drivers and ROI considerations.
* Act as a trusted advisor to shape and lead strategic decisions with a strong business case rooted in the customer’s industry.
* Develop early-stage pipeline for large-scale digital transformation opportunities and coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive opportunities to closure.
* Ensure delivery continuity and value realization post-sale; drive scale and growth across the customer’s business.


Qualifications

* Required/minimum qualifications: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Health Sciences, Supply Chain, Education, Business or related field AND customer-facing experience in relevant domains; OR Bachelor’s Degree in related field plus equivalent customer-facing experience.
* Experience in operations, enterprise-level improvement programs, product management, transportation, hospitality, automotive, consumer goods, financial services, retail, management consulting, consultative selling, public sector, technology, or equivalent.
* Certification or experience relevant to the role and industry; equivalent management or technical experience accepted.
