PpbbOverview Responsibilities /b /b /p /ppThe Sub-Regional EHS Manager is responsible for the effective management and execution of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs across Service Centers and field service operations of rotating equipment and turbomachinery servicing jobs within the defined sub-region. The role has direct accountability for EHS risk management at designated Service Center locations, acting as the primary EHS authority for those facilities. /ppIn addition, the role provides operational EHS support across wider field service and sub-regional activities. Working in close collaboration with Customers, Operations, Site Leadership, and the Regional EHS Manager, the position ensures that EHS risks are identified, assessed, and controlled at the point of execution, enabling safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of all activities. /ppbSPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES /bbr/Regulatory Compliance Leadership /plipMaintains full compliance with all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations and corporate standards, in particular, Italian legislation (D.Lgs 81/08). /p /lilipActs as the primary EHS authority and site subject matter expert on legislation, emerging regulatory trends, and industry best practice. /p /lilipLeads regulatory inspections, agency interactions, and statutory reporting by INAIL. ASL, and other regulatory bodies. /p /lilipEnsures all permits, licenses and approvals are maintained and effectively managed. /p /lilipResponsible for leading the company through VCA recertification cycles and serving as the primary point of contact for all external VCA audits. /p /lipEHS Management System Governance /plipProvides EHS leadership and support to field service activities, including, pre-job planning and risk assessment, customer site compliance and contractor management and coordination. /p /lilipOwns and continuously improve the site EHS Management System aligned to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. /p /lilipLeads internal and external audits, statutory inspections and assurance programs. /p /lilipTracks, manages and closes corrective actions with senior leadership accountability. /p /lilipEstablishes clear governance structures, risk ownership and performance metrics. /p /lipRisk Management Operational Control /plipOversees risk assessments for all high-risk activities including contractor operations. /p /lilipEnsures robust control of physical, chemical and ergonomic hazards. /p /lilipApproves or challenge operational plans where risk exposure is unacceptable. /p /lilipExercises stop-work authority where necessary. /p /lipIncident Investigation Learning /plipLeads and govern all serious incidents, near misses and high-potential events. /p /lilipEnsures investigations are of high quality, root causes are identified, and lessons are embedded across designated EEE and customer sites. /p /lilipDrives systematic learning and cross-site sharing of critical risks. /p /lipLeadership, Culture Workforce Engagement /plipCoaches and influence site leadership on decisions affecting EHS culture and performance. /p /lilipActs as a visible role model for safe behaviors and professional standards. /p /lilipChampions workforce engagement, speak-up culture, and behavioral safety programs. /p /lilipEmbeds EHS into daily operations, planning processes and performance reviews. /p /lipTraining Capability Development /plipOversees site EHS training strategy, curricula and competence frameworks. /p /lilipEvaluates training effectiveness and implement innovative learning methods. /p /lilipEnsures leaders and supervisors are equipped to manage risk effectively. /p /lipPerformance Continuous Improvement /plipAnalyzes EHS performance data and trends. /p /lilipLeads improvement initiatives aligned to Group, Regional and Site KPIs. /p /lilipDrives continuous improvement through structured programs and targeted interventions. /p /lilipContributes to longer-term strategic development and regional best practice. /p /lipEmergency Crisis Management /plipActs as the site EHS advisor during emergencies and critical incidents. /p /lilipSupports business continuity planning and crisis response. /p /lilipProvides professional leadership during high-pressure events. /p /lipbBACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE /b /plipBachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and / or Occupational Health Safety or related field. /p /lilipMinimum 5-7 years’ experience in EHS roles with 3+ years experience within heavy engineering, manufacturing, energy, petrochemical, or similar high-risk industrial environments having managed service centers or field service operations. /p /lilipStrong working knowledge of UK and EU regulations and directives, with the ability to interpret and apply these requirements pragmatically within complex operational environments. /p /lilipMandatory comprehensive knowledge of Italian legislative decree 81/08; candidate must be a qualified RSSP. /p /lilipCertified Lead Investigator with significant experience leading complex incident investigations. /p /lilipCertified Lead ISO Auditor with experience in ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 / integrated management systems. /p /lilipVCA Certified must possess a deep understanding of VCA protocols and hold a current certificate. /p /lilipStrong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage across all organizational levels, contractors, and customers /p /lilipProven ability to influence senior leaders, shape site culture, and deliver sustained improvements in EHS performance. /p /lipbBase Location Work Schedule /b /ppThis is a full time permanent hybrid position based out of our office in La Spezia, Italy. /ppbThe world turns to Elliott. /b /ppCustomers throughout the world choose Elliott for the design, manufacture and service of their critical rotating equipment.
