Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves supporting preparation of financial statements, managing ledgers, and collaborating with internal teams to support financial planning and analysis.
Main Responsibilities
* General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts including cash, A/R, A/P, Fixed assets, prepayments etc. Ensure proper recording of financial transactions and adjustments as part of the month-end close process. Monitor and resolve discrepancies in ledger entries. Ensure intercompany reconciliation monthly. Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliation on a quarterly basis.
* Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes. Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
* Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations. Assist with external audits. Prepare, organize, and improve support required for Swiss VAT quarterly returns. Prepare quarterly Swiss surveys information (Swiss National Bank reporting).
* Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff. Provide training and support to ensure accurate and efficient work. Coordinate with other departments to address financial issues.
Requirements
* Education and training: Financial and accounting education, Trading company a plus.
* Professional experience: At least five-year experience in accounting department within international environments with good knowledge on IFRS and Swiss Gaap (CO).
* Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
* Proficient in English, French is a plus.
* Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills required.
