Job Description
Introduction
Join an international team, and take ownership of the supervision, and coordination of the deployment of telecom and structured cabling infrastructure across CERN's sites. Being a dynamic position, you will take charge of the complete workflow, efficiently and according to CERN's standards.
Functions
* Supervise and coordinate work requests related to structured cabling (U/UTP or S/FTP) and telecom infrastructure in tertiary buildings, technical facilities, experimental caverns, and tunnels.
* Translate end-user requirements into concrete, workable and efficient solution.
* Produce, review and validate technical plans and documentation.
* Request, review and validate contractor quotations, follow up the administrative procedures to launch the works.
* Liaise with users regarding the estimated cost, provide clarifications when needed, and provide regular updates regarding the progress of the work-site.
* Chair or attend coordination meetings with contractors and/or internal stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient worksite execution.
* Carry out regular on-site inspections to verify progress, routing and quality of the installation.
Qualifications
Higher technical diploma or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Telecommunications, Information & Communication Technologies, Electric or a related field.
Experience:
* Demonstrated experience supervising telecom and network structured cabling installations, including routing, testing and certification;
* Demonstrated capability to capture end-user requirements;
* Demonstrated experience coordinating or following up contractors/team on technical worksites;
* Experience performing on-site inspections and quality checks in line with technical specifications and safety rules;
* Ability to produce, read and validate technical documentation;
* Good communication skills and the ability to interact constructively with contractors and internal or external stakeholders;
* Ability to identify on-site issues and follow up corrective actions pragmatically.
Technical competencies:
* Organisation, planning and control;
* Specification and follow-up of technical aspects of a contract;
* Project management;
* Use of office software packages.

Employment Conditions
Contract type: Limited duration contract (5 years). Subject to certain conditions, holders of limited-duration contracts may apply for an indefinite position.
Working Hours: 40 hours per week

* Work in Radiation Areas.
* Interventions in underground installations.
* A valid driving licence.
* Stand-by duty, and work during nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organisation.
