Job Description
This is a key position in our finance team where you will manage the allocation and governance of our direct expense spend. You will oversee teams in Zurich and Krakow, leading the performance management of our diverse project portfolio.
In this role, you will collaborate with senior management to align expense management with strategic objectives. You will set demanding but achievable targets for business units and group functions and proactively manage performance against these targets throughout the year.
Additionally, you will lead the approval, governance, and ongoing performance management of our project portfolio. This includes regulatory projects, IT enhancements, and business expansion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage global direct expense spend ensuring efficient resource allocation to support business growth and maintain world-class efficiency standards.
* Collaborate with senior management to align expense management with strategic objectives.
* Set and manage expense targets for business units and group functions.
* Lead the approval and governance of our project portfolio.
* Partner closely with stakeholders to ensure projects are efficiently structured for successful execution.
* Manage and develop a geographically distributed team.
Requirements
* Masters degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
* 15+ years of experience in related field ideally as a qualified accountant.
* 5 years of experience in CFO or controlling positions (desirable).
* Proven expertise in expense management, budgeting, and financial controlling.
* Experience in managing large-scale budgets and expense allocations.
* Strong understanding of Insurance or Financial industry.
* Strong business acumen with demonstrable experience of influencing senior stakeholders.
* Passion for innovation and applying the latest technology solutions.
* Experience of running high performing teams distributed across multiple locations.
