The Position
ECoE Team Member - PT (Pharma Technical) FP&A lead
Location: Basel, Switzerland
We advance science so that we all have more time with the people we love.
The Opportunity
At Roche, our Finance Centers of Excellence have led the way in breaking down silos, removing hierarchies, and working in new ways. We've learned from our successes and from the things that haven't gone so well. We're better equipped to look at interfaces and synergies and to understand the risks of creating new silos. Now is the time to build on those learnings, shifting from a divisional/functional approach to an enterprise approach with an Enterprise Center of Excellence (eCoE).
The eCoE will focus on three areas delivering a high level of financial expertise, innovative insights, and an entrepreneurial mindset that enables agility and flexibility for stakeholders. The eCoE will be a talent engine for Finance through capability building and network building.
There Are Three Focus Areas Within ECoE
* Financial Backbone
* Digital Innovation
* Analytics and Insights
While there are three focus areas and clusters, we are not seeking to create silos. We are looking for individuals who display the Finance Mindset and behaviors and will support a living organism that will leverage the business knowledge and financial expertise of the network to deliver exceptional results for Finance and Roche. Team members will partner with Roche Services & Solutions, Finance Enterprise Partners, and the Business to deliver many of Finance's core processes and deliverables while also driving process scaling/simplification/harmonization and progressing our digital ambition. Ensuring business continuity is a must.
As the PT FP&A lead, you will bring strong business acumen, and technical expertise, together with the ability to work in a self-aligning team with minimal hierarchy.
You will work in a dynamic environment and manage many business relationships in PT and across Pharma, Pharma Finance, and the Roche Group. You will meet the challenge of finding the right balance in an environment with risk and reward trade-offs.
Your enterprise view looking beyond PT will be a significant success factor for the role that allows you to connect the information received through various channels and analyze the impacts in PT Financials and beyond.
As part of this role, you will monitor the financial results and coordinate the monthly consolidation process. You will also analyze and communicate the actual and forecast results to the Head of PT Finance and Division Finance teams. You will be a key SPOC for the Head of PT Finance working closely on various matters impacting PT financial results. In addition, you will play a PT Finance SPOC role for Group and Division Finance stakeholders.
Leading the PT planning process includes helping to develop the PT assumptions and story while working closely with PT Finance Enterprise Partners and the eCoE on monthly PTLT financial communication, MTO, and TO events, ensuring alignment with the overall PT storyline. As a subject matter expert on relevant accounting topics, you will provide Product COS support as part of the Pharma Division forecasting and planning processes. Additionally, you will lead PT-related topics for an external audit and control the PT-relevant Group Restructuring Plans (GRPs).
Who You Are
* At least 5-10 years of experience in a multinational financial management environment paired with a master's or equivalent degree in finance or accounting
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing finance with previous expertise in FP&A and consolidation related to COGS and Inventory
* Strong knowledge of IFRS, ACCA, or CPA preferred. Experience with internal controls and external audits is preferred
* A passion for change, simplification, and process improvement, as well as the ability to see through complexity and identify and remove waste
* Resilience and ability to adjust to a fast-changing environment. Strong interpersonal skills, collaboration, and influencing skills and ability to build trusting and productive relationships
* Ability to understand the business context and to apply judgment towards prioritization and decision-making
* Entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity that is inspirational to others, generating ideas and seeing them through to action
* Ability to navigate through a complex, broad, and diverse organization and can liaise effectively with different organizations
* Fluent in English and good communication skills
