Head Finance Direct Procurement is a global role partnering with Procurement and Finance function of production sites to deliver 3rd party vendor savings. The role provides insightful and value-added analysis related to vendors and contracts and decision support to the STO Direct Procurement Leadership team and category heads in their organizations. Supports the development and execution of annual operating and long-term financial plans interim forecasts and “what if” scenarios, focusing on the underlying business drivers, key financial and operating metrics and relative sensitivity analysis with STO Finance leadership team and drives productivity and savings in the areas of STO Direct Spend. The role supports contract evaluation and financial analysis for vendor negotiations. Brings strategic financial outlook for vendor network development.
Major accountabilities:
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Direct Procurement Support
* Ensures accuracy and reconciliation of planning and forecasting data between Procurement spend and savings vs. financial reporting for ACT and planning cycles (TGT/LFs).
* Supports Direct Procurement projects and PPV/savings tracking and delivery.
Productivity and Financial reporting
* Drives Projects and benchmarking to increase productivity on a short/long term basis for Sandoz Technical Operations with efficient make vs. buy evaluation.
* Ensures efficient Procurement cost structure in line with business need and generics mindset.
* Provides input for TPC/Standard costs process. Manages Direct Material planning process and updates.
* Manages proactively R&O and ensures delivery of financial commitments.
* Leads planning and forecasting for budgeting cycles and manages delivery against defined objectives for TGT/LFs etc.
Business Partnering
* Support procurement savings calculation and tracking and ensure compliance according to savings guidelines. Play a key role in designing and developing reporting tools, interacting with internal functions to devise solutions that enhance reporting and data management.
* Partners with Procurement category managers to deliver incremental Free Cash Flow through supplier payment term improvements.
* Partner with manufacturing site teams, commercial organizations, beyond Procurement to maximize Enterprise value.
* Support and track financial impact of claims cases.
* Contribute to the pre‑contract negotiations with key suppliers and effectively deliver implementation of the Terms & Conditions in the contract.
Governance, Compliance, and Control
* Ensure rigorous financial processes, strong internal controls, and full compliance with audit requirements, maintaining the highest standards of governance and transparency.
Key performance indicators include: accuracy of actuals, plans, availability of analysis in time and of required quality to key stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
* Minimum: MA degree required. Desirable: CPA, MBA or a professional qualification.
* Fluent spoken and written English.
* Extensive Finance and Strategy experience, with 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience, ideally within pharmaceutical, biotech, FMCG.
* Experience in Finance of Operations, knowledge of product costing.
* Experience in Procurement Finance is a plus.
* Ability to engage with business partners, influence across the organization.
