The Fractional Controller leads client financial management, acting as the primary point of contact across various clientele and ensures accurate, timely completion of all bookkeeping and financial reporting. You will supervise bookkeepers, manage month-end closes, implement internal controls, and present financial reports to clients, adhering to GAAP and SSARS 21. Strong technical accounting skills, client communication, and proficiency in QuickBooks are essential.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary contact for multiple clients, fostering strong relationships and understanding their financial needs.
Educate, mentor, and review work of team members at all levels for accuracy and quality.
Provide comprehensive accounting and advisory services across various industries.
Manage daily accounting operations, including transaction entry, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Perform adjustments, reconciliations, and system setups for new clients.
Generate financial reports ensuring compliance with GAAP and SSARS 21.
Handle payroll, payroll taxes, sales taxes, and fixed asset reporting.
Research and apply industry best practices, conduct risk assessments, and advise clients accordingly.
Organize and prioritize projects to ensure timely completion.
Analyze financial reports, prepare, and post journal entries.
Continuously update knowledge of tax laws and accounting practices.
Qualifications
8+ years of professional accounting experience across multiple clients and industries.
Strong understanding and application of GAAP and SSARS 21.
Proven leadership, mentoring, and training abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze complex data and develop solutions.
Advanced QuickBooks and Excel skills; familiarity with other financial software.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently remotely, take initiative, and anticipate client needs.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree and CPA preferred.
