For New York-based candidates only: The annual salary range for this role is $120,000–$140,000.

Why we are recruiting:
The Resource Systems team within the World Economic Forum’s Centre for Nature and Climate (CNC) is recruiting a Lead, Circular Economy Initiatives, to lead two of the Forum’s initiatives advancing the Circular Economy: 1) Global Materials Collaboration (GMC) and 2) The Circular Transformation of Industries (CTI). GMC will investigate scenarios for international collaboration on materials and circularity to deliver economic prosperity and climate and nature goals. The CTI initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of circularity in manufacturing-intensive sectors through knowledge creation and sharing.
Reporting lines and interactions:
The role reports to the Circular Economy Innovation and Business Engagement Lead of the Centre for Nature and Climate. It involves close collaboration with the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains and the Centre for Energy and Materials.
Main responsibilities:
1. GMC: Ownership of planning and delivery of GMC, including elevating the importance of materials and circular economy on the international agenda through research and international dialogues.
2. GMC: Refine workplan and key questions regarding trade, governance, and international processes for materials efficiency.
3. GMC: Deliver a white paper on scenarios for international collaboration on materials.
4. GMC: Prepare and deliver sessions at international events to share learnings.
5. CTI: Ownership of planning and delivery of CTI, including:
6. Creating a whitepaper on circular logistics with high research standards.
7. Designing knowledge exchange sessions on circular economy, securing high-level speakers, and growing participation.
8. Planning objectives and activities for 2026, aligning with stakeholders and the Steering Committee.
The successful candidate will be assessed on:
* Effective collaboration and delivery of assets for GMC and CTI initiatives.
* Ability to inform the Forum’s materials and circular economy strategies.
* Proactive attitude and stakeholder engagement.
Education and professional background:
* Master’s degree in resource economics, circular economy, or related fields.
* Experience in environment, natural resources, technology, and innovation, with specific experience in circular economy and international collaboration.
* Minimum of seven years of relevant experience working with industries on projects and initiatives.
* Ability to work with C-suite leaders and diverse stakeholders.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative, positive approach.
* Excellent communication skills in English; other languages are a plus.
* Strong analytical skills.
