PpThe World Organisation Against Torture Office in Geneva is seeking to recruit a highly motivated, dynamic intern with a strong commitment to human rights and social justice causes to be part of a small yet dynamic communications team and to support the implementation of the OMCT communication strategic objectives. /p h3bABOUT THE OMCT /b /h3 pThe OMCT works with around 200 member organisations which constitute its SOS-Torture Network, to end torture, fight impunity and protect human rights defenders worldwide. Together, we make up the largest global group actively standing up to torture in more than 75 countries. Helping local voices be heard, we support our vital partners in the field and provide direct assistance to victims. Our international secretariat is based in Geneva, with offices in Brussels and Tunis. /p h3bROLE RESPONSIBILITIES /b /h3 pThe Communications Intern will be part of a small, dynamic communications team responsible for enhancing OMCT’s visibility, increasing audience engagement and reach across digital platforms, coordinating communications for advocacy initiatives, and supporting fundraising efforts. The intern will assist with a wide range of communications tasks across various channels, with a particular emphasis on digital platforms, including social media and the website. The intern will work closely with staff responsible for digital communications and content production and will report to the Director of Communications. /p pKey responsibilities include providing support to the Communications Team by assisting with the following tasks: /p h3bSupport for Digital Communications /b /h3 ul liAssist in managing OMCT’s digital communication channels—including social media and the website—in close collaboration with the staff member responsible for digital communications. /li liContribute to the creation and dissemination of social media content, including visuals. /li liSupport the analysis and reporting of web and social media analytics. /li liAssist in the digital dissemination of blog posts, videos, statements, and reports. /li liAid in the production and publication of the OMCT Annual Report, with a particular focus on its digital component. /li /ul h3bLiaison with Providers /b /h3 ul liServe as the primary point of contact for external translators, as required. /li liCoordinate the uploading of invoices related to collaborations with all external providers (translators, videographers, graphic designers) into the relevant OMCT software. /li /ul h3bSupport for Content Production /b /h3 ul liAssist in the development of digital, written, and multimedia materials in close collaboration with the staff member responsible for content production. /li /ul h3bSupport for Media Relations /b /h3 ul liHelp produce media materials and coordinate interviews with journalists, as well as organize media events, in close collaboration with the Director of Communications, as needed. /li /ul h3bSupport for Capacity Building /b /h3 ul liAssist in the design and implementation of training sessions on communication-related topics, in close collaboration with the Director of Communications, as needed. /li /ul h3bQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED /b /h3 ul liCurrently enrolled in studies in full or part-time studies in communications, PR, journalism, marketing, or a related subject /li liCandidates must be available for 40-50% during the term and 100% during term holidays /li liDigitally savvy, with knowledge of social media platforms, Canva, and ideally some experience with video editing and graphic design tools. /li liStrong writing and editing skills in English and/or French.
