We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager (m/f/d) to join our Water Infrastructure (WI) Finance team. This high-impact leadership role is ideal for a finance professional with a strong business acumen who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, and transformative environment. As FP&A Manager, you will be a key thought partner to senior leadership—driving strategic decision-making through advanced financial planning, performance analysis, and forward-looking insights. You will play a critical role in elevating the FP&A function by leading initiatives that enhance forecasting accuracy, streamline reporting, and support business transformation and long-term value creation.
Location: Schaffhausen in Switzerland (Xylem Europe Headquarter)
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
* Lead the preparation, analysis, and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results, including variance analyses and executive-ready reporting packages for the global Water Infrastructure business.
* Oversee the annual budgeting and rolling forecasting processes - partnering with regional finance teams to align assumptions, consolidate inputs, and drive strategic alignment.
* Steer the weekly WI Outlook process by collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver timely and accurate projections.
* Ensure high standards of data integrity and financial reporting accuracy across all planning and reporting deliverables.
* Develop and institutionalize key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics to monitor financial health and operational efficiency—proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for course correction.
* Drive alignment on WI Working Capital targets across the organization; partner with Supply Chain, Credit & Collections, and Corporate Finance teams to optimize performance and improve forecasting reliability.
* Lead continuous improvement of FP&A processes and tools, championing automation, standardization, and the adoption of best-in-class practices.
* Assess and implement advanced analytics and predictive modeling to enhance forecasting precision and decision-making capability.
* Serve as a key liaison with global and regional stakeholders in Accounting, FP&A, and Tax to ensure alignment on key financial policies, processes, and accounting treatments.
* Contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives, ad hoc analysis, financial modeling, and scenario planning to support strategic projects and business transformation efforts.
* Fosters a high-performance culture and continuous learning across finance teams.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration; MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.
* 7+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles within FP&A, ideally in a global, matrixed, or publicly traded organization.
* Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, business case development, and performance management.
* Demonstrated experience supporting executive-level decision-making and partnering with business unit leaders to drive strategic outcomes.
* Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects, manage competing priorities, and influence without authority in a global, fast-paced environment.
* Track record of driving process excellence, continuous improvement, and financial transformation initiatives.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise messages for senior audiences.
* Advanced proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, OneStream) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI); strong Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
* Experience with data visualization and storytelling techniques to translate data into actionable insights is highly desirable.
* Experience in project management or change management is a plus.
* Ability to thrive in ambiguity and demonstrate sound judgment in navigating complex organizational dynamics.
