The Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC) and
the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI)
are seeking applications for the position of
PhD in Neuroscience (100%)
with a focus on chronobiology, occupational medicine, and sleep medicine
The project will investigate the medical risks associated with night-shift work, with particular attention to circadian rhythm disturbances in healthcare professionals, and aims to develop preventive strategies including cognitive-behavioral interventions.
Eligibility requirements:
1. Master’s degree in Medicine or Psychology
2. Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles
3. Proficiency in Italian (spoken and written)
4. Solid background in statistics
5. Basic knowledge in sleep medicine and chronobiology
The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team addressing the intersection of sleep research, occupational health, and preventive interventions, with a special focus on healthcare workers such as nurses.
The starting date is February 1, 2026.
