Job Description The role involves identification, analysis, evaluation, ongoing monitoring, control, and communication of all investment risks related to our own balance sheet and investment mandates managed by Helvetia Asset Management.
Responsibilities Risk Assessment: Conduct in-depth analysis of risk exposures and vulnerabilities. Evaluate impacts of market events, financial products, and regulatory changes. Monitor risk metrics such as Value-at-Risk (VaR), stress testing, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
Risk Modeling: Develop and enhance quantitative risk models for market, credit, and liquidity risks.
Risk Reporting: Support preparation of risk reports and presentations for senior management and portfolio teams. Communicate complex risk concepts clearly and ensure accurate, timely reporting of risk metrics and indicators.
Operational Development: Maintain and improve the risk management framework, procedures, and systems.
Portfolio Review: Review proposed portfolio strategies and investment proposals across asset classes, including real estate and private debt, preparing due diligence reports.
Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, economics, business administration, econometrics, or a STEM field with economic specialization.
Knowledge of financial market theories; additional training as a risk manager or financial analyst (e.g., CFA, FRM, CIIA, CAIA) is advantageous.
3-5 years of experience in risk management within asset management, fund management, banking, or insurance sectors.
Knowledge of Solvency or Swiss Solvency Test is a plus.
Experience with R or Python.
Strong analytical, quantitative skills, attention to detail, and results-driven mindset.
Self-motivated, accountable, independent, assertive, and result-oriented.
Proficiency in German and English.
