The Department of Management, Technology, and Economics (D-MTEC, www.mtec.ethz.ch) at ETH Zurich invites applications for this position.
Decision sciences provide insights into decision-making and derive recommendations based on principles from mathematics, statistics, computer science, and behavioral sciences. Expertise in operations research (OR) and/or advanced analytics applied to empirical business problems is highly relevant. The candidate should maintain an outstanding research program in decision sciences, emphasizing applied analysis of business problems relevant to managerial practice at the organizational level. Collaboration with industry partners is expected.
The position does not seek candidates specializing in transportation science, ecosystem perspectives such as energy systems, or the role of cognition in decision-making.
The new professor should be an effective and enthusiastic teacher, capable of developing and teaching courses in applied operations research and business analytics. At the assistant level, a commitment to teaching and the ability to establish and lead a research group are required.
