TITLE Legal Counsel START DATE May/June 2026 DURATION 6 months, with the possibility of extension UTILIZATION 80 - 100% LOCATION(S) Geneva, Switzerland (frequent travel may be required) AREA Legal THE ROLE We are seeking a legal counsel for a leading commodities trading firm in Switzerland. The Legal Counsel will support in advising on finance and commercial agreements. The successful candidate will coordinate with external counsel, oversee client notifications, and manage various legal and administrative tasks related to documentation and transaction support. Proficiency in English is essential for this role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive legal support for trade finance transactions and instruments; collaborate closely with trading and execution teams to explore trade finance. structure alternatives, payment flows, and risk mitigation. Draft, review, and negotiate a range of agreements, including master discounting agreements, credit insurance contracts, and repo-financing agreements. Negotiate commercial and procurement agreements, advise on existing agreements or templates. Maintain communication with compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations. Develop templates and guidelines, as well as prepare memos to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and best practices with various team members. YOUR PROFILE Proven legal experience in general banking, with a strong understanding of bilateral financing, security-taking, and commodities. Proficient in contract review, negotiation, and end-to-end management of legal documentation processes. Advanced proficiency in Excel for data management and reporting purposes. Excellent organizational capabilities and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across teams and jurisdictions.
