Position: Capacity Strengthening Coordinator
Supporting the Capacity Strengthening Manager, the Coordinator will oversee technical support to governments and institutions in countries experiencing internal displacement. Responsibilities include assessing data systems, developing improvement roadmaps, conducting training, and representing IDMC at various levels. The role requires significant travel to develop partnerships and support activities in-country.
Main responsibilities include:
1. Assess national data systems through interviews and analysis, identify gaps, and develop improvement roadmaps.
2. Document and share lessons learned at various levels.
3. Advise on developing and integrating displacement objectives into operational frameworks.
4. Conduct trainings to promote the value of quality data systems.
5. Coordinate technical support requests and connect countries with resources.
6. Develop and deliver training on internal displacement data.
7. Represent IDMC in partnerships and public events.
8. Contribute to IDMC publications and proposals.
9. Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications and skills:
* Minimum five years of experience in displacement data collection, analysis, or management.
* Master’s degree in relevant fields such as geography, environmental science, or international affairs.
* Excellent communication skills in English and at least one additional language.
* Experience with data management and visualization tools.
* Proven ability to engage with high-level stakeholders.
* Ability to develop training materials and work collaboratively in multicultural teams.
* Experience in fundraising is an advantage.
* Demonstrated passion for internal displacement issues.
