What You Will Do Daily:
1. Act as the primary technical expert for product partners, translating their platform capabilities into integration opportunities for Sonar.
2. Advise partners on preferred integration patterns with Sonar. Assess feasibility of custom technical integrations with partners if necessary. Present partner integration requirements to Sonar’s Product Management and Engineering functions, and influence Sonar’s partner integration roadmap as required.
3. Design, architect, prototype, and demonstrate integration-based solutions with Sonar’s products and those from Sonar’s technical partners, including DevOps and CI/CD providers (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Atlassian, Azure DevOps, Jenkins), IDE platforms (e.g., VS Code, JetBrains, Cursor, Windsurf), and agentic coding providers (e.g., Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot).
4. Evangelize these integrations by producing high-quality technical content, including integration guides, reference architectures, blog posts, and video demos. Conduct joint webinars with partners and speak at industry and partner events.
5. Assist partners (and customers, as required) with integration deployments and implementations, facilitating interactions between partners and Sonar’s Product Management and Engineering functions.
The Experience You Will Need:
6. 5+ years of experience working in a partner-facing or sales-facing technical role, such as Partner Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Developer Advocacy.
7. 5+ years of experience in software engineering with the ability to independently architect, design and develop software in languages such as Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or Go. Proficiency with REST APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, and authentication standards (OAuth, SAML), including experience designing or consuming complex APIs is a strong plus.
8. Practitioner proficiency with DevOps and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Atlassian, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) and IDE (e.g., VS Code, JetBrains, Cursor, Windsurf), particularly with respect to their integration and plugin frameworks.
9. Strong understanding of agentic software development, including MCP and CLI integration methods and plugin models for leading agentic code providers (e.g., Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot)
10. Familiarity with AI/ML platforms (e.g., Databricks, AWS Bedrock, AWS SageMaker, Google Cloud Vertex AI, and Azure AI Foundry) including experience with marketplace listings, partner directories, and positioning developer tools within cloud-native AI workflows is a plus.
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling technical content and explain complex integration architectures to both business and technical stakeholders. Demonstrable track record of thought leadership through published content and speaking engagements.
12. Strong business acumen combined with a solid technical foundation; you are comfortable discussing API designs with engineers and negotiating go-to-market strategy with business leaders.
