We are seeking a skilled Software Automation Engineer to join our Process Engineering team in Switzerland. In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing and programming cutting-edge machinery for high-volume production.
Your expertise will drive the development of PLC and test software, electrical and pneumatic system design and machine commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and modify software for automation and testing systems, including programming PLCs and LabVIEW testing software.
2. Plan and build control system hardware for automated machinery, including electrical and pneumatic schematics and material lists.
3. Document, maintain and archive software, including user manuals and error handling documentation to ensure seamless operation and troubleshooting.
4. Train operators, apprentices and technicians on machine usage and operation to build a skilled workforce.
5. Ensure the safe operation and design of machines, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
6. Drive machine improvement using the latest data analysis techniques and machine learning models.
7. Design and implement cost reduction and improvement measures to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
Requirements:
1. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar environment.
2. Good software knowledge (LabVIEW, PLCs, C# etc.).
3. Experience in PLC programming for automated machinery.
4. Ability to design and maintain electrical schematics.
5. Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic or Mechanical Engineering.
6. Language skills: fluent in English AND fluent in German or French.
7. Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
