As an Instrument Integration Engineer, you play a key role in ensuring smooth integration of hardware and software components to guarantee optimal instrument functionality. You accompany the entire lifecycle of the instrument—from concept phase through development and validation to market launch and maintenance. Your expertise ensures that all system components work seamlessly together and that the final product meets the highest standards of quality and performance. Your work lays the foundation for the successful realization of modern diagnostic and analytical instruments used across various applications and industries.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Ensure seamless cooperation between hardware and software components, driving integration activities throughout the entire lifecycle of the instrument
* Independently or with minimal support, plan, execute, and document integration activities such as feasibility studies, testing, and troubleshooting
* Develop and verify test methods for instrument testing, maintain and execute complex test cases, and ensure rigorous testing of instrument functionality
* Support and execute troubleshooting and root cause analysis for instrument issues
* Apply statistical methods and data analysis using software tools to evaluate test results, identify trends and correlations, interpret findings, and generate reports that inform decision-making
* Act as the technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Represent projects in internal meetings and collaborate with R&D teams at the company to share domain knowledge and ensure alignment with project goals
* Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration, bringing fresh ideas to the table, encouraging innovation, and supporting continuous improvement
Must-Haves:
* Bachelor's or master's degree in a scientific or technical field, particularly in the areas of biotechnology or biomedical engineering
* Fundamental understanding of systems engineering and its application in instrument development
* Initial professional experience in medical device development is an advantage
* Initial professional experience in data analysis, evaluation, and the application of statistical methods is an advantage
* Affinity for data-related work
* IT/tool knowledge: MS Office / Google Workspace
* Fluent in English, German is a plus
* Nice to have: Knowledge in Python, Jmp, Azure Dev Ops, Retina
