Expert Engine Dynamics & Alignment
Responsibilities
Alignment calculation & engineering of 2-stroke combustion engines on ship installation with their direct coupled propulsion shaftlines as well as on test bed, analysis of measurement results.
* Various kinds of vibration calculations & measurements
* Investigation of alignment & vibration problems, work out solutions in cooperation with shipyards and owners as well as Design & Development and Product Engineering
* Support shipyards and owners as well as Design & Development in alignment and vibration optimized design
* Support licensees, shipyards and owners in alignment & vibration related topics
* Collaboration with Chinese Stakeholders within the China State Shipbuilding Corporation Group
Requirements
* Practical work experience with machine building, fitting and alignment
* BSc Mechanical Engineering (HTL / FH / Ing. ETH or equivalent)
* Theoretical knowledge of alignment, dynamics, mechanical systems and vibrations
* Good knowledge in measurement equipment and sensors of advantage
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Working experience with combustion engines of advantage
* Willing to travel and work abroad (approx. 30 days/year)
* Fluent in English (written & oral) is a must, German appreciated
