About the Role
You will lead a production team of experienced specialists who manufacture high‑precision components for space systems – for example, protective fairings for satellites. Our team combines skilled craftsmanship with state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing technology and an uncompromising commitment to quality. Together, we lay the foundation for successful missions – from the initial planning stages to launch.
Responsibilities
Your mission (your main tasks): As head of the production unit, you are the key to the timely and quality‑compliant delivery of our products.
Leadership & Control: You lead the production team and are responsible for the entire production process (manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing).
Performance Management: You ensure compliance with project production budgets, define production standards (shop floor management) and drive initiatives to improve productivity.
Capacity planning: You manage demand and capacity and coordinate CAPEX planning in line with new product introductions (NPIs).
Quality & Process Optimization: You work closely with quality assurance, optimize manufacturing processes with regard to costs, quality and risk of errors, and are involved in the non‑conformance process.
Personnel development: You carry out HR processes (competency planning, performance management) and promote personnel and management development in accordance with company values.
Their most important output: On‑time delivery (OTD), adherence to production budgets (HK), high production quality and productivity.
Qualifications
Experience: Several years of professional experience in an industrial environment, ideally with a focus on CFRP and aluminum processing.
Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or comparable federal diploma from a higher university of applied sciences), preferably with a focus on production engineering.
Required Skills
Technical expertise: Solid technical background in a project‑based industry, good understanding of Operational Excellence methods and the ability to read technical drawings.
System knowledge: Good knowledge of the SAP system and MS Office applications.
Regulation: Familiarity with quality standards as well as health and safety regulations (experience in aerospace or a regulated environment is an advantage).
Leadership: Proven experience as a team leader/manager.
