The traffic police make a central contribution to safety on the roads and to smooth traffic flow. In this responsible management position, you lead a versatile organizational area with around 80 employees and actively shape the strategic development of the traffic police. By arrangement, we are looking for a flexible and committed personality as Head of Traffic Police.
Your area of responsibility
Leadership of the traffic police department as police/on-call officer.
Personnel, professional, and organizational leadership of the subordinate managers in the special and specialist areas (Traffic Support Point North, Traffic Registry, Traffic Technology, Traffic Administration, Heavy Traffic with the control centers Unterrealta (Cazis) and Campagnola (San Vittore) and the traffic competence network).
Ensuring traffic police service and operational readiness in the geographically assigned area of responsibility.
Supports the Head of Regional and Traffic Police in the traffic specialist area.
Supports the regional police as a specialist supervisor in the implementation of traffic police tasks.
Close cooperation with the public prosecutor's office as well as other cantonal, inter-cantonal, and national authorities and organizations.
Further development of the organization in the areas of structure, processes, competencies, and training.
What we expect from you
Degree ideally as a lawyer or comparable studies.
Ideally experience as a police officer or comprehensive traffic and criminal police expertise.
Creative, networked thinker with strategic, conceptual, and communicative strengths (clear and level-appropriate communication).
Motivating and team-oriented leadership style, confident appearance, and assertive.
Focus on strategic and business management aspects.
Very good organizational, planning, and coordination skills.
Excellent analytical skills and problem‑solving competence.

Structured working method, goal‑oriented and efficient.
Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage.
