Consultant (12 months, home-based, remotely) Junior Insights Analyst, Audience and Market Insights, PFP, Geneva

This role is established to increase the capacity of the Audience and Market Insights (AMI) unit, specifically to enhance the actionability of research and insights. The Junior Insights Analyst Consultant will support the AMI team by conducting desk research, analyzing audience and market data, preparing insight reports, and assisting in the delivery of research projects. The role is ideal for a motivated early-career researcher with experience in market research, social listening, or audience insights.

Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Visualization Support: Assist in the analysis of audience survey data, social media analytics, and secondary data sources, producing clear outputs and visualizations using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.

Contribution to Research Projects and Insight Reports: Support end-to-end research activities including questionnaire design, coordination with external vendors, data synthesis, and the creation of final insight reports for internal distribution.

Data and insights organization: Maintain up-to-date insight databases, dashboards, and internal repositories (e.g., SharePoint, Teams folders) to ensure research materials are easily accessible and systematically organized.

Maintain organized documentation of research findings, data sources, and methodologies.

Support cross-functional collaboration by providing data and insights across relevant teams.

Scope of Work

Under the supervision of the High-Value Insights Manager, the Junior Insights Analyst will be responsible for: Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from internal and external sources (e.g., surveys, qualitative research, social listening, syndicated reports).

Supporting ongoing research projects, including survey design, data cleaning, quality checks, and synthesis.

Contributing to regular insight reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal staff.

Maintaining organized documentation of research findings, data sources, and methodologies.

Supporting cross-functional collaboration by providing data and insights across relevant teams.

Deliverables and KPIs

Deliverable 1: Ongoing from 1 December 2025 to 30 November 2026. Assist in the analysis of audience survey data, social media analytics, and secondary data sources, producing outputs and visualizations using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools. KPI: Support deliverables and regional/country specific analysis of 2 to 4 projects per quarter.

Deliverable 2: Ongoing from 1 December 2025 to 30 November 2026. Support end-to-end research activities, including questionnaire design, coordination with external vendors, data synthesis, and the creation of final insight reports for internal distribution. KPI: Assist in the drafting of 2 to 4 deliverables per quarter (e.g., insights deck, workshop facilitation documents, or insights memos).

Deliverable 3: Ongoing from 1 December 2025 to 30 November 2026. Maintain up-to-date insight databases, dashboards, and internal repositories to ensure research materials are easily accessible and systematically organized. KPI: Drive the effort to organize the AMI team’s files to follow a consistent folder and naming convention; ensure all files are systematically organized.

Qualifications
Education

A first level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in cultural studies, communications, psychology, marketing, political studies, development studies, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in market research, data analysis, or audience insights (agency or client-side).

Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methods.

Method neutrality is an asset (quantitative, qualitative, and secondary research).

Experience with digital and social analytics tools (e.g., Brandwatch, Talkwalker, Google Analytics).

Strong analytical and data visualization skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Tableau, or similar).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional UN languages are an asset.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Curious and constructive attitude, with a desire to learn and grow in the craft of research and insights.

Language

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.
