As part of our collaboration, we are supporting Mycrobez in the recruitment of a CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER (m/w/d) This is a unique opportunity to shape the technological backbone of a fast-scaling startup, leading innovation at the intersection of biotechnology, engineering, and sustainability. In this role, you will drive Mycrobez’s R&D and production strategy, scale up manufacturing processes, and safeguard the company’s intellectual property, all while guiding a talented, diverse team. Key Responsibilities Align R&D with the company’s overall strategy by setting and monitoring yearly and quarterly goals. Lead the optimization and industrial scaling of mycelium composite production, improving efficiency and throughput. Drive material innovation to ensure Mycrobez remains at the forefront of sustainable solutions. Oversee IP protection, including patent landscape monitoring and proprietary strategy development. Lead and inspire a cross-functional R&D team, ensuring timely and impactful delivery of milestones. Evaluate technical feasibility of new projects and provide support to business development. Cultivate strong partnerships with research institutions, advisors, and industry leaders. Ideal Candidate Profile 5–10 years of experience as CTO, Head of R&D, or in a senior engineering leadership role. Demonstrated expertise in industrial-scale fermentation and hardware engineering (essential). Strong track record in scaling industrial processes and production technologies. Academic background in Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field. Strategic thinker with resilience, creativity, and a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset.
