Kummler+Matter AG, based in Dällikon/ZH and part of the Colas Group, specializes in the development, design, and installation of catenary systems, as well as the development and sale of catenary components.
The
Head PMO Swiss German
is responsible for the tenders/offers and for the planning, organization, leadership, and control of all day-to-day operations related to railway and urban catenary projects in Swiss German. This role ensures projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. He will report to the Head of the Swiss German Business Unit and supports in key strategic decision-making and contributes to the business development and the pursuit of new growth opportunities.
He also acts as interim leader in the event of the BU Manager's prolonged absence.
Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management :
* Lead and supervise the project management teams
* Ensure the establishment of offers and tenders and the follow-up of the ongoing projects.
* Optimize operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs and ensure alignment with BU Swiss Romandie.
* Review current operational policies and partner with BU Romandie and HR to improve processes and procedures
* Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
* Train and mentor the project teams in order to reach the expected performance
* Support recruitment
2. Offers/Tenders :
* Responsible to identify the market opportunities/tenders and build the offers with the support of the project management team
* Ensuring process compliance and timely submission of bids
3. Project Management :
* Coordinate project teams and stakeholders, including project managers, site supervisors, and installation teams.
* Overseeing the project budgets while ensuring adherence to forecasted profit margins.
4. Performance Analysis :
* Evaluate operational performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action plans.
* Implement and improve the quality control processes in order to lower drastically the cost of non quality
5. Communication & Collaboration :
* Collaborate closely with other departments (equipment, procurement, sales, studies, finance) to ensure operational synergy.
* Provide regular updates to his manager (head of BU Swiss German) on project progress and operational challenges.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
* Degree in engineering, project management, or a related field.
* Over 10 years of proven experience in project management, ideally in the rail or infrastructure sectors.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* In-depth knowledge of catenary systems and related safety standards.
* Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
