Salary Range: $90k-$120k Annually, depending on location, experience, and skillset
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The IoT Network Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the health, performance, and scalability of our connected IoT device network. This role will focus on managing our growing fleet of cellular modems and sensors, improving deployment processes, and working across teams to ensure consistent, reliable performance at scale.
As we expand our IoT ecosystem, this role will also support the integration and operational rollout of new technologies, helping us prepare for more diverse and capable device networks in the future.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Network Operations & Reliability
* Manage performance and connectivity across our deployed network of cellular modems and field sensors
* Monitor uptime, troubleshoot edge cases, and coordinate resolutions across internal teams and contractors
* Develop and document standard operating procedures for provisioning, deployment, and ongoing support
Deployment Process & System Improvements
* Refine processes for field deployment and provisioning to ensure consistent, reliable installations
* Collaborate with the support team to streamline issue handling and improve network visibility
* Work with engineering and product teams to define tooling and telemetry improvements
* Support evaluation and operational rollout of new sensor technologies, including LoRa devices as needed
* Help establish scalable practices for managing multi-protocol sensor networks over time
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Act as the operational point of contact between support, product, and engineering for all field network-related concerns
* Share insights from the field to help inform product improvements and reliability priorities
* Maintain and share performance metrics, fleet health dashboards, and internal documentation
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
* Process-driven and focused on scaling operations
* Proactive, organized, and comfortable collaborating across teams
* Able to balance immediate issue resolution with long-term systems thinking
* Familiarity with MQTT, Modbus, and IP-based communications
* Comfort with provisioning workflows, diagnostics tools, and basic scripting or automation
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
* N/A
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* 4+ Years managing IoT deployments or other remote device networks
* Experience with cellular modem connectivity, device provisioning, and remote monitoring environments
* Exposure to LoRa or similar low-power networks preferred
* Must be able to successfully pass a background check
