Lonza is seeking Bioprocess Engineers with a background in Life Sciences and a passion for Biotechnology to join our team in Visp, Switzerland. Join our team as a Bioprocess Engineer within our Mammalian Business Division, either in Upstream Processing or Downstream Processing.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure that operational activities for clinical and/or commercial manufacturing are performed on-time and within given safety and quality standards
* Act as the functional lead for preparation, manufacturing execution, cleaning and changeover in the assigned area
* Lead one or more defined USP areas (e.g. seed train, main cultivation or harvest) for the production of therapeutic proteins with either mammalian or microbial expression systems (Bioprocess Engineer USP)
* In charge of one or more defined DSP areas (e.g. gain, polishing or filling) for the purification of therapeutic proteins from either mammalian (Bioprocess Engineer DSP)
Key Requirements
* Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related Life Science subject, or Bachelor’s holder with experience in pharma production
* Knowledge in either USP (such as bioreactors) or DSP units (such as chromatography)
* Couple of years working experience in biomanufacturing required
* GMP experience and understanding of bioprocess technology
* Excellent communication skills in English, good German skills are of advantage
