Run what runs the world.This Position reports to:Senior Engineering ManagerYour Role And ResponsibilitiesABB’s Medium Voltage Drives are designed to control and optimize industrial processes while improving energy efficiency in applications involving large electric motors. These systems are commonly used in sectors such as metals, marine, mining, chemicals, oil and gas, and renewables.The Advanced Customer Support team plays a key role in ABB’s global service network by ensuring fast and effective resolution of issues related to mission-critical equipment. Insights gained from resolved cases contribute directly to product improvements, enhancing usability and reliability.We are looking for a technically skilled and solution-oriented engineer to join our team and support the continuous development of our service and product offering.The work model for the role is: hybrid.This role is contributing to the Division Motion High Power - Medium Voltage System Drives in Switzerland.You will be mainly accountable for:Driving continuous quality improvement of products while ensuring exceptional customer experience for variable speed drives and connected systems.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support commissioning and remote troubleshooting, ensuring best customer experience.Actively looking for customer feedback and sharing it in the factory organization.Providing technical guidance and leadership in resolving complex issues during installation, commissioning, and throughout the product lifecycle.Delivering technical training and facilitating know-how transfer between the drives factory and ABB’s global service network.Qualifications For The RoleYou hold a technical education, such as an MSc, BSc, or an equivalent degree in engineering.You possess over five years (5) of experience in service and commissioning of Medium Voltage Drive Systems, ideally with a focus on system commissioning and troubleshooting.You apply a structured and methodical work style, with a strong emphasis on quality improvements and enhancing the customer experience.You are motivated to drive innovation and contribute to ongoing product improvements.You demonstrate flexibility and creativity in problem-solving, with a solution-oriented mindset and the ability to adapt your approach as needed.You are willing to participate in 24/7 expert support and to travel globally up to 20%.You have a good command of English; proficiency in additional languages is considered an advantage.More about usABB High Power is a global supplier of high-performance drives, drive systems and packages for industrial processes and large infrastructure applications.
