The Aga Khan Trust for Culture
is seeking a
qualified Accountant
to support its financial operations. This Geneva-based role will be reporting to the Finance Manager, the role involves managing day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial processes in line with AKTC policies.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
* Control and process suppliers' invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies
* Verify the coding of accounting documents to align with AKTC's chart of accounts and accounting policies
* Enter transactions into the accounting system in a timely and accurate manner
* Maintain the general ledger, including the preparation of supporting documents and accounting entries
* Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
Financial Transactions & Reconciliations
* Handle financial transactions such as bank transfers, invoice payments, and follow-ups with suppliers and partners
* Complete monthly reconciliations of bank accounts
* Ensure accurate accounts reconciliations across ledgers
Closing & Reporting
* Perform monthly and annual closing processes in line with agreed deadlines
* Assist with the preparation of annual financial accounts, ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines
* Support the preparation of management and statutory financial reports
Audit & Compliance
* Prepare and support the annual statutory audit process
* Ensure timely completion of all legal and regulatory filings
* Review and update AKTC's financial policies and procedures on an annual basis
Core Competencies, Knowledge and Experience
* University degree in
Accounting (or equivalent qualification such as Brevet Fédéral)
, with good Knowledge of accounting principles (Swiss GAAP; CO)
* Minimum of five years' professional experience in accounting
* Strong computer skills (Office 365, use of digitalisation systems would be a plus), with advanced proficiency in Excel
* Strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and excellence
* Accountability and reliability in delivering results
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
* Capacity to work collaboratively and consultatively, fostering effective partnerships
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Soft Skills
* Fluency in French and English
(oral and written), with strong communication skills
* Demonstrated experience in international and multicultural environments
* Proficiency with
accounting software applications using analytical dimensions;
knowledge of MS Business Central and JetReports would be beneficial but is not essential
* Strong team player, adaptable to working in a small team environment
* Deadline-oriented with a flexible approach to working hours when necessary
* Effective communication skills (oral and written)
* Proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative
* Able to deliver on objectives with limited supervision
* Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
