You are developing tools to assess the impacts of natural hazards on infrastructure in high mountain areas. This includes preparing hazard indication maps in the context of the Speed2Zero project, a joint initiative of the ETH domain. In addition, you will develop a model chain for real-time hazard assessment, which involves predicting runout and impact of snow avalanches potentially reaching high-mountain passes. These works are part of an Italian-Swiss Interreg project. You work closely with the other project partners and communicate scientific results to practitioners.
Qualifications: You have a degree in geosciences, environmental sciences, or engineering, and good experience in programming and data handling. Good communication skills are required to collaborate effectively with team members from diverse backgrounds and to tailor information to varying levels of expertise. You are well organized, motivated to work in an interdisciplinary and international team, and are keen to find solutions to practical problems.
