Software Engineer ( all genders) - Functional Safety
Responsibilities
Development of technical concepts for implementing functional safety features in an embedded software environment
Supporting the Functional Safety Manager in creating and reviewing the Functional Safety Concept (FSC) and system requirements
Performing software safety analyses (e.g., DSA, FMEA for software)
Leading, creating, and maintaining software safety requirements, including related verification criteria
Deriving and aligning the impact of functional safety features on the software architecture in close cooperation with the Software Architect (including software components, interfaces, and hardware resources)
Ensuring compliance with relevant ASPICE processes and alignment of all development activities with the required ASIL/SIL levels
Developing a roadmap for functional safety features based on the Safety Plan and project releases
Acting as the main point of contact for external auditors in the area of Software Functional Safety
Qualifications
Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, or a comparable field
At least 7 years of experience in the automotive software field and 3 years in the area of Functional Safety (ISO 26262, IEC 61508)
Practical experience with Infineon AURIX microcontrollers; knowledge of STM32 is a plus
Certifications in ISO 26262 or IEC 61508 as well as knowledge of modern diagnostic protocols or model‑based development
Very good English skills; German is a plus
Strong analytical skills, structured way of working, team orientation, and confident communication with internal and external stakeholders
