About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Formulation Assistant (Chocolate Specialist) to join our innovative team dedicated to crafting exceptional chocolate products. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in food science, confectionery, or artisanal chocolate-making who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the development and refinement of chocolate formulations, from concept through to production.
Assist in sourcing, measuring, and preparing ingredients for small- and pilot-scale test batches.
Conduct laboratory testing on ingredients and final products to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with safety standards.
Document recipes, experimental data, and observations with precision and clarity.
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe working environment.
Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to support product innovation and troubleshooting.
Participate in sensory evaluations and provide feedback on taste, texture, and appearance.
Stay informed about industry trends, ingredients, and techniques relevant to chocolate formulation and confectionery science.
Required Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Previous experience working with chocolate, either in a production or culinary setting.
Knowledge of chocolate tempering, molding, and flavor pairings.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Professional spoken and written English language skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in formulation or R&D roles in the food or confectionery industry.
Familiarity with ingredient functionality and basic food chemistry.
